A good portion of Monday's class period will be devoted to reading a substantial chunk of Dandelion Wine. It's important that you read to page 45 of the text before completing the following assignment. You may choose to read alone or with a partner; that's entirely up to you.
After reading the assigned pages, respond to the following prompt:
How does Bradbury build suspense in the chapter in which Douglas goes missing? Use specific examples (i.e., quotes) from the text to support your answer. Write a minimum of two paragraphs (5-7 sentences each) that fully express your thoughts.
This assignment is due on Wednesday.
Please have your paper printed for class. Contrary to what is normally expected of you, you do not need to have these paragraphs edited by peers. You do, however, need to self-edit your work before submitting it for a grade.
This assignment will be graded as if it's an open-ended response to a Keystone prompt.
