“And here the paths, made or yet unmade, that told of the need of boys traveling to be men.” After reading that line, reread the paragraph that begins on the bottom of page 16 (“Who could say where town or wilderness began?”). This is a metaphor; what two things are being compared? How are they being compared? What is Bradbury trying to say with this metaphor?
Why do you suppose Douglas feels less alive than his friends? Explain your answer in one paragraph using examples (and in-text citations) from the chapter to support your opinion.
